Bahee Van de Bor, Specialist Paediatric Dietitian
Private paediatric dietitian and children's gut health specialist, helping families overcome persistent tummy symptoms, even when tests are normal and everything else has been tried.

Children with complex gut symptoms don't need more tips. They need a clear clinical framework and someone to take responsibility for the process.
Over 20 years and hundreds of families later, the pattern is the same: parents have already tried dietary changes, exclusions, fibre advice, medications, and reassurance. Despite doing everything they were told, their child's symptoms continue to affect daily life.
Explore the Happy Belly Club®You've done everything right. Your child is still struggling.
Children with complex gut symptoms don't need more information or generic advice. They need clarity, structure, and a step-by-step clinical process led by a specialist.
The families I work with typically arrive having already been through the medical system. Tests are normal. Growth is fine. They've been reassured. But their child is still in pain.
- Daily tummy pain, bloating or discomfort affecting school and family life

- Diarrhoea, loose stools or urgent toilet trips after meals
- IBS-type symptoms with no clear explanation from the medical team
- Anxiety around food, toileting or leaving the house
- Months or years of trying things that don't fully work

How I work
As a private children's gut health specialist, I don't offer isolated advice, quick tips, or generic diet sheets. I work through a structured clinical process that takes responsibility for the full picture.
A clear clinical framework
A structured assessment process developed over 20 years of specialist practice, so you understand what we are doing and why at every stage. No guesswork, no conflicting advice.
Step-by-step guidance
A structured process that works through symptoms, diet, gut function, development, stress, routines, and family context in the right sequence.
Ongoing clinical oversight
Adjusting the plan as your child responds, rather than leaving you to manage alone between appointments.
Who I am
I'm Bahee Van de Bor, a UK-based paediatric dietitian with over 20 years of specialist experience working with children whose gut symptoms have become persistent, disruptive, or difficult to untangle.
I trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where I worked for 12 years as a specialist paediatric dietitian. I now offer online paediatric dietitian consultations to families across the UK and internationally.
I am a registered dietitian and lead author of forthcoming UK dietetic guidance for IBS and abdominal pain disorders of gut-brain interaction in children, currently in development. I am also one of the editors of Clinical Paediatric Dietetics, the British Dietetic Association endorsed textbook used by paediatric dietitians, whose sixth edition publishes in September 2026, and contributor to the gastroenterology chapter covering IBS and abdominal pain disorders of gut-brain interaction.
As a Monash University-trained dietitian with specialist certification in the modified low FODMAP approach for children, every strategy I use is evidence-based, developmentally appropriate, and applied with clinical judgement.
Alongside my clinical work, I host the Kids Nutrition Podcast, where I share evidence-based guidance on children's eating and gut health. I also contribute to national media and am frequently invited to provide expert commentary on children's nutrition.
I'm also a mum of two girls, so I understand the emotional weight of trying to do the right thing for your child and how overwhelming it can feel when nothing seems to work. My aim is to remove the guesswork, reduce anxiety, and help your child feel better in a way that is sustainable, practical, and grounded in evidence.
I was that child
I also have IBS. My symptoms started when I was twelve. I was not diagnosed until my mid-twenties, despite training as a dietitian. I spent years cutting out foods, convinced something was fundamentally wrong with me.
What eventually helped was not more restriction. It was a structured approach that made sense of what was actually happening.
I do not want any child to carry that uncertainty for as long as I did. That is why I built the Happy Belly Club®.
I am also a mum of two, so I understand the weight of managing a child's health while keeping everything else running. My aim is to reduce the guesswork, contain the anxiety, and give you a clear path forward.
Families I've worked with
"Working with Bahee has been remarkable. We struggled to find answers for our child's intolerances and allergies, feeling lost in the healthcare system. She helped us understand our child's complex health issues and significantly improved his bowel movements. Her approach is not only compassionate but highly personalised. She remembers each child by name and their unique symptoms, making us feel truly cared for."Yuliya, parent of school-aged boy
"We asked Bahee for help with our son's constipation, digestion issues, and food intolerances. Her easy-to-follow steps for identifying and removing trigger foods, along with her advice on beneficial foods and vitamins, significantly relieved his symptoms. He's now eating most things without medication. Her guidance has been invaluable, helping not just our son but our entire family."Nick and Laura, parents of a toddler
"My son had regular tummy pains. Since working with Bahee, his stomach pains have reduced significantly. We also have a framework for dealing with problems in the future. She showed us how to work through different food groups to isolate the problem. Her manner with my son was excellent and made him feel very comfortable."Tom Grunwald, parent of school-aged boy
"We spent a year and a half trying to figure out why my son was having so many issues. After the first consultation with Bahee, she set us on a path that gave us immediate results. My son went from having terrible stomach pain several times a day to virtually none with her advice on diet and supplements. I underestimated how much those things mattered but Bahee was very kind with getting some very frustrated parents and 10 year old to some easily manageable solutions!"Katherine, parent of a 10-year-old
Professional credentials
My clinical practice is grounded in frontline experience, national leadership, and the best available evidence in paediatric dietetics.
Lead author of the first UK dietetic guidance for paediatric IBS
I lead the team developing UK dietetic guidance for IBS and abdominal pain disorders of gut-brain interaction in children. It will be the first guidance of its kind in the UK, setting out how dietitians assess and manage these conditions in children.
The clinical approach I use with families is the approach that work is built on.
Co-editor, Clinical Paediatric Dietetics, sixth edition
Clinical Paediatric Dietetics is the reference paediatric dietitians train and practise from, endorsed by the British Dietetic Association and published by Wiley. Most UK paediatric dietetic departments hold a copy.
I am one of six editors of the sixth edition, publishing in September 2026, and a contributing author to the gastroenterology chapter covering IBS and abdominal pain disorders of gut-brain interaction.
Chaired the BDA Paediatric Specialist Group, named Group of the Year in 2024 and 2025
As Chair of the British Dietetic Association Paediatric Specialist Group, I helped shape professional education, clinical standards and best practice guidance for dietitians working with children across the UK.
The group was named Group of the Year in both 2024 and 2025, during my time as Chair.
Invited speaker at Europe's largest paediatric gastroenterology congress
In 2026 I presented at ESPGHAN, the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, on nutritional microbiome therapies post antibiotics in children.
ESPGHAN is the principal international forum for paediatric gut health, bringing together clinicians and researchers from across Europe and beyond.
Expert commentary for national audiences
My work has been featured across television, radio, and national publications, helping families access evidence-based information about children's gut health.
I have been recognised for this work by the British Dietetic Association, named joint winner of BDA Media Spokesperson of the Year in 2022.
Alongside my clinical work I host the Kids Nutrition Podcast, and work with brands and organisations on responsible nutrition messaging for families.
